Rooster Rock

May 13, 1979

Sixteen eager Obsidians left Eugene at 8:10 a.m. and met again at 10:00 a.m. at Trout Creek Trail. To allow for suitable progress on the steeper parts of the trail, the group was divided into 2 sets. The trail was in immaculate condition in sublime forest, but mercilessly uphill. Sooner or later all were rewarded with a perfect view under clear skies. Lunch and rest were enjoyed in warm sunshine while watching some climbers scale to the top of this massive rock. Everyone praised this beautiful day in May.

Obsidians coming to roost were Percy Everett, Bob Devine, Jane Hackett, Wayne and Ruth Lill, Dorothy Hayes, Joe Lowry, Ralph Nafziger, Parker Riddle, Clarence and Dorothy Scherer, Lois Schreiner, Beverly Soule, Helen Smith, Ted Stern, Robin Steussy, and leader Paula Vehrs.
