Fall Creek TrailMarch 18, 1979This trip was added due to several requests for “at least a ten mile hike” during ski season. We left one car at Dolly Varden and went on to begin hiking above Puma at the trailhead. Trillium, spring beauty, yellow violets, skunk cabbage were blooming along the trail. Helen Smith took inventory on timber down during the winter and made trail repair notes for the Lowell Ranger District. Threatening clouds cleared and the sun was out when we reached Dolly Varden again at 2:00 p.m. Hikers were all Obsidians: John Cecil, Bob Foster, Jane Hackett, Lee Hatch, Betty Legris, Helen Smith and leader Emmy Dale. |
