South Sister

July 21-22, 1979

Hiked to Green Lakes, Saturday morning and climbed Broken Top that evening. No snow on the trail. Next morning we arose at 5 a.m., left at 6 a.m. We arrived on top at 11:30 a.m.; left top at 12:00 and arrived at Green Lakes at 2 p.m.; arrived at Sparks Lake at 3:30 p.m. Then we drove home. All the people in the party climbed both mountains except Dean McKenzie who did not ascend Broken Top. Other climbers were Elizabeth Binney, John & Jon Cecil, Rich Littlefield, Colin Macdonald, Larry Pitcher, Lee & leader Wayne Hatch.
