Lower McKenzie River Trail

We started shortly after 9:00 a.m. on an overcast day.
Most hikers were “dumped” at the lower trailhead while cars were
taken to trail access about five miles up road.
When drivers returned in one car, we started out at a good pace to keep warm.
Lovely walk along river and rain-forest-like conditions.
Several blow-down on trail, but evidence that these were being cleared, being
worked north to south.
Ate lunch sitting on blow-down logs, and twenty minutes later came to a lovely
lunch spot at Lost Creek, complete with picnic table and footbridge.
Several good footbridge crossings of creeks on trail for
