Mt. June

August 20, 1978

Because of steady rain and a forecast of its continuing throughout the day, our group of five stalwarts decided to go to Mt. June rather than Maiden Peak as scheduled. Rain fell steadily throughout our trip, but we enjoyed the hike to the top of June. The valley fog prevented any view from the top where we had lunch in the drizzle. We understood that this was Clarence Landes’s 29th ascent of Mt. June. Other hikers were Evelyn Everett, Bob Foster, Betty Legris and leader Joe Lowry.
