Hardesty Mountain

Mt. Hardesty—

No sun, but no rain
No views, but no strain
Great crowd had fun together
Lots of flowers, any weather.

Left 19th and Patterson at 9:40 a.m.; arrived at trailhead approximately 10:45. On the trip up we passed splashing bright rhododendron blooms, a meadow carpeted in blues and yellows, and many, many less flashing little beauties. On top our lunches were spiced with laughter as we showed the newcomers where each snowcapped peak should appear in case the fog should lift. Returned to Eugene by 3:00 p.m. awaiting only clear skies for our next trip. Enjoying the trip anyway were Bob Capron, Lorayne Chapman, Clara Emlen, Beverly, Lloyd & Michael Lindley, Georgia Mason, Ethel Steussy, Bob Walden and leader Barbara Stiles.
