Tire Mountain

June 11, 1978

Saturday was a very rainy day, but Sunday was a beautiful, sunny day contrary to forecasts. By walking the Alpine trail from Windy Pass, we crossed several open areas with good views of Diamond Peak and the High Prairie country above Oakridge. Turning off on the Tire Mountain trail we again passed through several open meadows where the wild flowers were in full bloom. The party enjoyed a sunny restful lunch on top of the Mountain and headed back down by 1:30 p.m. Tripers were Angie Barta, Anne & John Bonine, Emmy Dale, Heide Didwiszus, Barbara Durchanek, Wilbur Groner, Karen Houglum, Parker Riddle, Merle Traudt, Dorothy Turner, Odile Viratelle, Mike Wright and leader Helen Smith.
