Rooster Rock

May 13, 1978

Our visit to Rooster by way of the Trout Creek Trail and down the Rooster Rock Trail was damp and cloudy. The only time it actually rained was right on top when we were trying to eat lunch. Needless to say, we didn’t linger long on top. Both trails are in fine condition although they are steep. For the effort required, the Rooster Rock trip offers a fascinating view of the Menagerie (only hinted at this day). This party of hikers appreciated the beauty of the area in spite of the weather. They were Angie Barta, Shirley Driver, Gladys Grancorvitz, Wilbur Groner, Karen Houglum, Dot Leland, Joe Lowry, Betty Legris, Vern Nelson, Karen Seidel, Ethel and Suzanne Steussy, Velma Shirk, Merle Traudt, Lin Trombley, Yvonne Young, and leaders Emmy Dale and Helen Smith.
