Gold PointApril 30, 1978If you want a brisk and challenging hike with lovely wild flowers, fine stands of timber, great views of wooded valleys and rocky outcroppings, try Gold Point Trail on a clear day. On April 30 clouds and rain obscured the views and vistas, but twelve hikers enjoyed the other features of the trail, and promised to come back again in fine weather. All admitted the nine-mile trek was a good workout. For several this was the first hike of the season. Enjoying the soggy Sunday were Angie Barta, John and Peter Cecil, Lee Hatch, Dorothy Hayes, Ethelyn Rhoades, Parker Riddle, Helen Smith, Merle Traudt, Dorothy Turner, Yvonne Young and leader Velma Shirk. |
