Deception Butte & Trail

We drove up the Willamette Highway to Deception creek, where the trail comes out, left a car, then drove up the Forest Service Road #2052 to the upper end of the trail. After a short but steep climb to the top of the Butte we headed down the trail into the valley. It was a beautiful day and we saw lots of wild flowers, especially our little wild orchids or lady slippers. Participants were Angle Barta, Diane Bush, Norm Benton, Emmy Dale, Barbara Durchanek, Wilbur Groner, Deb & Mike Harness, Ted Stern, Dennis Kleinberg, Ethel & Suzanne Steussy, Merle Traudt and leader Helen Smith.
