Beach near YachatsMarch 11, 1978We started from Eugene at 8:00 a.m. minus three signers, who chickened out because of a few clouds. After arriving at Yachats in a driving rainstorm, we decided over a snack and cup of coffee to go down on the beach for a short time even though it was raining steadily. Elizabeth chose to return to town to get her car repaired because of a breakdown in the transmission, which was temporarily fixed by a local service station man. The rest of the group put on rain gear and had a very nice long walk over large rocks and sand about four miles up the beach and return. We never needed our rain gear and even had some bright sunshine. In this group unafraid of a few clouds were Carol Easton, Bonnie Ledford, Gladys Grancorvitz, Elizabeth McMullen, Loretta Plaa and leader Lee Hatch. |
