Obsidians Enjoy Climb of the Nun

Sixty to seventy lucky Obsidians and guests traveled almost to the summit of 23,410' Mt. Nun in eastern Kashmir, India, with Norm Benton Saturday, March 18. His excellent slides taken in June 1977 ranged from Kashmir to Delhi and points in between. We were treated not to just snow covered peaks, but distance and close-up shots of 17th century architecture, young and old in a world in many ways removed from our own, and flowers. We shared Norm’s disappointment in not quite reaching the top, and his pleasure in meeting other international climbers, some he had met on other peaks. It was an evening that broadened our horizons as well as our girth since the slides were preceded with the customary tempting groaning board. Mark your calendar for next time. We missed you!
