Dance NightFebruary 10, 1978The February 10 dance night was a big success with 22 attending. Everyone took part in the Schottisches and Polkas and Square Dances, and several starred in the Varsouvienne and Hambo. Dorothy Leland’s dance recordings sounded fine on the borrowed turntable plus the Lodge speakers. The snack table was well stocked and very popular. This kind of activity blends very well with hiking, climbing and skiing, as the Obsidians discovered long ago, when they used to dance every week at the old Del Rey (upstairs), and an overnight cabin party never ended without a happy session of folk dancing with music by Chester Pietka and his accordion. There will be another dance night—watch for the date. |
