Pengra PassFebruary 26, 1977There were 11 Obsidians and 5 nonmembers along on this first ski trip after the rains came (and the snow). It was a beautiful day, with skies overcast at times, sunshine at times and snow at times. We had 18 inches of new snow (Clarence and Merle measured it) but we had to break trail very little. Pengra Pass is such a popular area that other skiers had been there already. We had lunch and dried out in a cabin at Odell belonging to some friends of Henrietta. After that, we explored the Trapper Creek Camp Ground and briefly considered skiing in to Midnight Lake. After exploring that trail, we decided it was too late in the day—so returned home. A good day with a great bunch of skiers and snowshoers who were Emmy Dale, Meredy Davis, Clarence Landes, Glenn Meares, Jan Middleswart, Judy Moore, Wes Prouty, Henrietta Richmond, Parker Riddle, Charlene Simpson, Mark Simpson, Connie and Millard Thomas, Merle Traudt, Dorothy Turner and leader Dorothy Hayes. |
