Fall Creek Trail

December 4, 1977

We finally made it! A week later than originally scheduled—a hike the full length of the Fall Creek Trail, that is. It was a damp, foggy, cool day for us, with moisture falling on us just before noon. We were at Slick Creek just west of Bedrock Campground, we ate lunch in the cave where it was dry.

As we rounded the rocky point west of the cave, we watched six people come down the creek in kayaks. They were having a wild ride as the creek was full of brown water.

Hikers and watchers were Virginia Anderson, Emmy Dale, Clara Emlen, Wilbur Groner, Bonnie Ledford, Tillie Merritt, and leader Helen Smith.
