September 25, 1977
We had continuous rain until the last 15 minutes of the trip, but the trail
was good and everyone was prepared.
When we arrived at what maps show as Found Lake (which the sign at the lake
says Lost Lake), Merle and Clarence went on searching for another lake but
found nothing but a small dry lake bed.
A short lunch because of the chilly rain, a ½ mile side trip to see
beautiful Round Meadow, a climb over several ridges and cheerful hikers were
back at Charleton Lake and the cars.
Someone said “I didn’t realize before a trip could be so enjoyable
in the rain.”
The sixteen “wet-backs” on the hike were
Fred & Karen Heiman,
Pat & Janice Pattison,
Clarence and Dorothy Scherer.
