Left in two cars at 9:00 a.m., rendezvoused at Finn Rock, arrived at trail
head by 11:00 a.m.
Weather clear except for field burning smoke hanging between the western
valleys, refusing to “go away.”
The spring which is about 0.6 miles from trailhead still had water.
According to Helen, lookout is in repairable shape (windows need shutters
Lunch on top from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m.
On return half of party (Helen, Pete, Tilly) decided to take the Blue River
Trail and be picked up by Bert.
Other half returned home to Eugene, arriving by 4:00 p.m.
There were no huckleberries this year.
