Rebel Rock LookoutJuly 3, 1977A cloudy but dry day, snow mountains were covered by the clouds, but wildflowers were in full bloom thus making the day worthwhile. Reaching the top of the ridge by 12 noon, we ate lunch, then went on out to the lookout house. Found it in pretty good shape after we managed to push our way through the brush down to it. Highlight of the trip was the finding of a little brown bunny-rabbit beside the trail. It was flattened down and being absolutely still, we admired it for little while, then went on without disturbing it. Also scared up two grouse, one with two small ones. Hikers were: Alan Curtis, Barbara Durchanek, Alice Moffitt, June Russell, Helen Smith (leader) and Paula Vehrs. |
