Linton Lake

June 26, 1977

Left parking lot at South Eugene High School at 1:00 p.m. in two cars with seven persons. Met the Bougerie’s at McKenzie Bridge. Mildred Chestner was with them, making a total of ten. Arrived at Lower Alder Springs at 3:00 p.m. The trail was wet in the usual places, but passable. Got to the far end of the lake at 4:30 p.m. where most rested while two of the girls took a swim. Falls are visible from the top of the lava ridge and one other spot on the trail. No one seemed inclined to go to the mouth of the creek. A few fishermen were seen but only one had any luck. Started back about 5:00 p.m. and arrived back in town about 7:30 or 8:00 p.m. Those making the trip were Merle Traudt, Marion Wylie, Karen Houglum, Ellen Jackson, L. F. Hawkine, Patricia Runrica, Carol and Janice Bourgerie, Mildred Chestner, and leader Mac McWilliams.
