Waldport to Yachats Beach HikeFebruary 13, 1977We left Eugene at 8:00 a.m. and drove to, Yachats where we picked up one other hiker and left one car before driving on to Waldport for the start of the day’s hike. The weather was warm and mostly sunny as nineteen bitters started south on a slow and easy hike the nine miles to Yachats. At about five miles we stopped for lunch and rest. Another couple of miles and we were off the sandy beach on the large rocks near Yachats. As planned the tide was low when we got there and all enjoyed searching the tide pools for urchin, anemone, and starfish. We finished the day at Yachats with sunny skies and tired legs. Drove back to Waldport to cars and home by various routes. Those enjoying the beach excursion were T. Emerson, Gladys Grancorvitz, Dorothy Hayes, Susie Heddinger, Karen Houglum, Wayne Hatch, Richard Heinskill, Joe Lowry, Margaret Markley, Elizabeth McMullen, Dick Mickelson, Gwen and David Price, Parker Riddle, Bill Seavey, Ted Stern, Dorothy Turner, Don Weinstien and leader Lee Hatch. |
