Santiam Pass

March 13, 1976

This was a snowshoe/ski trip on the Skyline trail area north of the Santiam pass. Good snow and still snowing, no view however. On a clear day this area provides a good view (Washington to Broken Top) but today was not our turn.

We had a good party—equipment and attitudes were in top shape. The two cross-country skiers made some “personal marks” in the snow as they came down the slope too fast. The party was: Mary Bridgeman, Chuck Haddad, Dorothy Hayes, Helen Hughes, Catherine Jones, Clarence Landes (leader), Mel Pattison, Wes Prouty, Helen Smith, Tess Smith, Ted Stern, Merle Traudt, and Margaret Wiese.
