Fay LakeFebruary 29, 1976Twelve inches of deep powder snow on top of a ten foot base, lots of sunshine and plenty of people enthusiasm made possible an enjoyable outing for sixteen Sunday morning early birds. All the skiers had arrived at this snow covered lake by 12:45 and enjoyed an hour or so for lunch and feeding the gray jays. We were out to the cars by 3:30, sunkissed and oxidized. A person sure can get one’s head together while cross country skiing within the beauty and stillness of a snow blanketed Oregon fir forest. A big assist in leading goes to Glenn Meares and Charlene Simpson who had been here before. Enjoying the stillness and the gray jays were Jay Anderson, Mary Borman, Pat Cook, Tom Dickson, Marcia Greve, Glenn Meares, Jan Middleswart, Wes Prouty, Tom Rhodes, Parker Riddle, the leader, Gretchen Rosenberg, Charlene Simpson, John Thompson, Merle Traudt, Dorothy Turner, Randy Zustiak. |
