Mt. June

December 11, 1976

A beautiful day with a good view of the mountains—Hood to Thielsen. Some snow on the last half mile on Mt. June (last fourth mile, about four inches to six inches) and was nice to walk in it. Renewed our faith as to chances of snow for this winter. The group sure appreciated the comments by Ewart Baldwin about the geology of the area—a good feeling to know that the remarks are professional and freely, given—and thanks. An added attraction: To look across the fog-bound lowlands as we basked in the sunshine. It was a first time to Mt. June for four of the party. It is fun to be with a group that shows their enjoyment of being on a trail and of being at a viewpoint of our surrounding hills and mountains. A Happy New Year to all hands. They were Ewart Baldwin, Mary Bridgeman, Lee Hatch, Clarence Landes (leader), Joe Lowry, Elizabeth McMullin, Vern Nelson, Wes Prouty, Parker Riddle, Helen Smith and Merle Traudt.
