Mt. Pisgah

November 20, 1976

“Get thee up into the top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward and southward, and eastward.” Deuteronomy 3:29

Well, we did just that, but all we could see this time was Willamette Valley fog! However, we didn’t mind; we hiked leisurely up the graveled path stopping along the way to gather meadow mushrooms. We had lunch on top and left at 12:30, making a five mile loop back down following power line road, trails, stream, fields and ending up along the path at the edge of the arboretum site. (Rest room facilities are now available at the trail be low the farm house.) A delightful three hour hike. We were back in Eugene by 3:00 p.m. Good group—Mary Bridgeman, Jeanette, Jeff & Mike Bobst, Jean Cofer, Gladys Grancorvitz, Beverly Juilfs, Ted Stern, Paula Vehrs, Marion Wylie and Dot Leland, leader.
