Iron Mountain

September 25, 1976

This fall trip in to see a spring wildflower area was a success. There were still flowers in bloom, the lookout was still open and there were seeds everywhere. The group was interested in the flowers as well as the scenery, including all major mountains from Hood to Diamond as well as many minor ones. Weather was warm after traveling 30 miles through the fog in the valley. Ken Hixson had to work so the leadership ended up with Ken and Robin Lodewick. Clara Emlen brought a young friend, Adelle Medberry, age 5 who also enjoyed the trip. Stops were made at the lava at Fish Lake to check a Penstemon (what else?) and at Sahalie and Koosah Falls on the way home.
