Erma Bell LakesAugust 21, 1976We had a beautiful sunny day to hike in to the lakes. It was the first time for a number of the hikers and they were very impressed with the beauty on the way into the lakes and at the lakes. We found many wild flowers in bloom, Bunchberry, Prince's Pine, Starflower, and Parrotbeak to name a few. We had lunch at Lower Erma Bell then on to Middle Erma Bell, stopping to see the falls between the two lakes. Parker Riddle and son Kevin tried fishing, others waded in the cool water of Middle Erma Bell lake. It was such a beautiful day we did not want to leave. On the way back we stopped at Roaring River to take pictures and enjoy the beauty of the water cascading over the rocks in the river. Carol White said it was an “A” plus trip all the way. There were twelve hikers: Carol Bourgerie, leader, Lonnie Bourgerie, Jack Ewing, Joella Hadland, Margaret Hess, Karen Houglum, Arran, Kevin, and Parker Riddle, Carol White, Alice and Leanne Wilcox. |
