Spring LakeJuly 25, 1976This was a short, pleasant hike over a portion of the Obsidian Trail and the un-maintained trail to Spring Lake. Although there was some snow and a few blowdowns on the latter trail, it was passable, with the only hard going the steep 200 yards or so at the end. We arrived at the lake around 11 a.m. and spent several hours exploring the nearby ridges, spring, etc. One brave soul tried swimming, but the cold water drove him out after only a few moments. Those attending were: Mike Althouse, Carol Bourgerie, Lonnie Bourgerie, Rich Mull, Barbara Durchanek, Mamie Scott, Charlene Simpson, Marion Wylie, and Ann Ward, leader. |
