McKenzie River Trail Part 2April 11, 1976After promises by the weatherman of rain all day, we started in bright sunshine. Found many flowers in bloom along the trail, and the trail in good shape except for tree limbs, etc. Even tried to sneak up on a grouse but did not get within 25 feet. Found only five others on the trail, four of them girls who had camped out overnight. Clouds finally started to arrive as we crossed Trail Bridge dam back to the car. Note that the leaders were the only Obsidians on the trip, what happened to the rest of them? Hikers were, Bobbe Dyer, Rob Faulds, Kenneth and Robin Lodewick, leaders, Dee Mazany, Elizabeth McMullin, and Art Porter. |
