Old BaldyMarch 6, 1976Eleven people assembled at the park blocks on a surprisingly beautiful Saturday morning. We left town at 9:10 a.m. in three cars and had put two of them at the higher trail and left one at the trail near Armitage Park by 9:30 a.m. Except for the trail being rather muddy we had a good hike to the cut off for the Coburg Caves, where we went for a look at the valley and the rock formations. We were soon off, going crosscountry in the direction of Old Baldy. Once at the top we had lunch with a beautiful panorama all around except for haze in the valley. On the way down Mary B. led us astray, giving us a couple of miles cross-country through meadows, which was enjoyed by all. Without losing anybody we arrived back at the cars at 3:00 p.m. On the trip were, Angie Barta, Mary Bridgeman, John Cecil, Wilbur Groner, Helen Smith, Douglas Spencer, Helen Spencer, Merle Traudt, Pieter Visscher, Alex Ziel, and Peter Cecil (leader). |
