Ice Cream Social

May 22, 1976

Why don’t we do this more often! This was a fun party—with everyone joining in the cranking under the direction of the Dave Zevenbergen family and Nellie and Harvey Harmon, turning out the most delicious ice cream in many flavors. . . Singing to Dave’s piano playing was especially nice and reminiscent of the “old days”, as were the games, pin the beard on Uncle Sam, identify baby pictures, bingo, etc., thanks to Paula Vehrs who planned the fun. She and several others wore charming old fashioned dresses. . . Myrtle Smith and Muriel Aufderheide arranged the decorations—nosegays on each table and hand-lettered signs. A most enjoyable slide show was presented by Mr. and Mrs. Lowrance.

The committee appreciates all the help given and in turn deserves a lot of credit for this and all the pleasant social events of the year. Compliments to Ray Sims for building the fire and starting the coffee, and to Bette Hack for running a smooth kitchen.
