Ewart Baldwin: “Oregon Geology from the air”January 24, 1976Saturday evening was a great feast in all departments: for the palate; for fellowship between the 75 members and guests; and for the eyes. The tables, thanks to that committee, had been converted into assorted greens, and very lifelike skiers and landscapes. One of our members and a University of Oregon professor, Dr. Ewart Baldwin, shared with us slides of Oregon taken from the air; and narrated them from a geological point of view. If you had been to the areas he showed, you re-lived it and wanted to return; and, if you hadn’t, you wanted to go there. Verrry interesting! Another similar treat is in store on February 28 (also on Saturday) when another member, Dr. Walter Youngquist, treats us to “Four Hemispheres in Four Months”. Hope to see you there. |
