Booth Lake on SnowshoesApril 19, 1975If any day could have been more enjoyable, we don’t know how! A hike from Santiam Pass to Booth Lake on April 19 was accomplished on 10–15 feet of snow by snowshoes, compass and memory. It snowed off and on all day, just enough to keep the group cool. Lunch was eaten in sunshine. The sun did melt enough snow on our return trip to give our snowshoes a taste of “mashed potato snow” but not for long enough to be too tiring. Enjoying the quiet of a snow covered world were: Clarence Landes, Wes Prouty, Helen Smith, Lois Schreiner, Merle Traudt, and Phyllis Ford, leader. |
