Tipsoo Mtn.June 14, 1975Left Eugene at 8 a.m. and started up the Lowder Mtn. trail after some difficulty finding it at 10 a.m. Near the top of Tipso Butte we ran into quite a lot of snow drifts, but got to the top at 1:30 p.m. It was a hot sunny day and the view of the Sisters and other snow peaks to the east was great. After lunch and rest for an hour we headed for the cars and back to the road at 4:30 p.m. On this hard 10 miles all uphill hike were Nancy Datson, Pat Banks, Wilber Groner, Dorothy Hayes, Pat Kauris, Dorothy Leland, Wayne Martin, Sam Miller, Ralph & Sandy Nafziger, Bill Pratt, David Pierce, Cindy Secrest, Karen Seidel, Nancy Sharrard, Ron Smith, Merle Traudt and leader Lee Hatch. |
