Mt. Thielsen

August 24, 1975

Departed Diamond Lake on a bright cool morning at 8 a.m. Arrived on summit at noon on a beautiful clear day. Mt. Thielsen displayed exceptionally lovely colors after the severe rain that had occurred just a day before the climb. While on top, we were saluted by a small plane which circled and tipped its wings. We all enjoyed a leisurely return to the lake where some braved a swim. Not a mosquito was seen.
