June 15-16, 1974
French Pete, as usual, was beautiful and especially so with the good weather we had. We packed in about three miles to the first large camping area we found. Some of us stayed there the rest of the afternoon. Some of us went for short walks, the more ambitious ones hiked another eight or nine miles and the boys fished.
We couldn’t have had nicer weather or have hiked in a prettier place.
(Dave: the snow level was about eight miles in from the trail-head—not the 11 miles that people had been reporting).
Dorothy Hayes led the following people: Mary Bridgeman, Maragret Brittain, Grant DeBuw, Al & Theresa Gamache, Gladys Grancorvitz, Chuck Haddad, Marilyn Hartman, John Hribernick, Fred Huntington, Clarence Johnson, Bob Nordahl, Peter Stasney, Paula Vehrs and Dorothy Turner.
