Diamond Peak

August 24-25, 1974

Tim picked up Chuck saving me the trip to Eugene. Arrived Conger Lake Trail head late afternoon and hiked in to lake. (Was it cold?) A Portland Mazama couple only others in area. He caught a beautiful Eastern Brook Trout.

Arose at daylight Sunday and had leisurely breakfast. Left 7:30 a.m. Identified species and discussed ecological succession enroute through timber. Up NW ridge to No. Col, then on edge of glacier to just under summit. Mazama couple and dog were already there. Left ring binder note book and also Obsidian book due to scheduled climb next week. Descent uneventful. Followed by refreshing swim in Conger Lake. And following Dave Burwell, leader, were Tim Cook, Chuck Haddad and Kim Hendershot.
