Many "homemade" Parkas are making their appearance on the Ski field. Any light material such as cheap shirting or ginghams can be used. Patterns may be purchased, made up, or best of all borrowed. Zippers for the front can be bought at the five and ten and with a few hours work an inexpensive Parka can be turned out. Water proofing material can be purchased at local stores and it is very simple to apply. Use a small brush and simply paint on the water proofing to the finished Parka. There's nothing like it to keep out the winds, rain and snow.
