April 20: Phakding

The green-ness of the vegetation on the trail to Phakding is distracting; it’s been
such a long time since we have walked among flowers and forests.
We walk along the well-beaten trail past walls of Mani stones and through clusters of
houses, and finally arrive at Phakding.
The reward for our day of walking is Real Showers.
With hot water and floors and sinks and soap dishes and shower heads.
The water is gravity fed from a tank through a solar hot water heater, but it has
reasonable pressure and temperature, and we luxuriate in our first real showers in a month.
I break out my cleanest clothes for the occasion.
