Khumjung

We spent out third and fourth nights at Khumjung. It ended up being my favorite
town on the trek. It is a little off the beaten track, less frequented by tourists,
and in one of the prettiest settings in the area. 
And they have a bakery
that makes great apple pie and apple “struggle” (I think they meant strudel!)
We arrived during a festival for one of the local deities — the locals offer
up prayers, burn juniper and hang prayer flags to ask for successful crops for the year. 
The people of the village were busy spreading compost on the fields and planting potatoes
by hand. They would take the time to stop and smile and greet us with “Namaste”
as we walked past.
